  • For me the biggest compliment to give this game is that it is BOTW good. It’s not similar but but it’s as well crafted. When you start is feed like a small game but it’s massive. The music is great too.

  • Outer Wilds sets the new standard for which new adventure games should be compared. It not only entertains the player, but pushes the genre, and even the industry to new highs. It goes beyond its status as a game and becomes art because it makes you feel. We are truly blessed that we can enjoy games like this one, or Disco Elysium for example. A shining light in what sometimes is a black hole, the gaming industry.

  • WOW,This reminds me of a short story in the past. In the novel, a scientist fired a laser to a thousand planets near the earth, and ensured that the laser would land on each planet at the same time. When the laser hits the planets, the computer has to render these planets at the same time, because they are objectively touched by artificial particles. As a result, the simulation engine crashes and the entire universe restarts.Interesting stories, and also thought-provoking,

  • This is one of the only games that I've actually DREAMED about, it had that much of an emotional impact on me I remember that I dreamt that I was in the hanging city, sitting among the bones of this long dead civilization that I had been frantically learning about, and I remember just falling to my knees at the tragedy of it all. The tragedy that I had become so close with these people, these aliens that had been dead for centuries, and they would never know me. This place that was so obviously filled with life and joy was now dead, and all I was ever going to be able to do was sift through the ashes, picking up scraps of knowledge and character to hold close to my chest. I would have given anything to just go back in time and see this place alive, it just broke my heart, I almost woke up crying. I've never had anything even a little bit like that happen to me, and I'll always be grateful to these folks for giving me an experience like that

  • outer wilds really is one of the very, very few games where the gameplay and story don't collide. AAA games nowadays are so focused on making "cinematic" games that the gameplay ends up getting in the way of the story; they'd be better off just making movies. this game gets it right. such a breath of fresh air, really.

ATP is the only issue (for which the fix wasn't great) with the game, but otherwise, I'd largely consider it perfect. It's incredibly rare to have a game that meshes narrative and gameplay and environment so well - like, what's on the opposite end of the spectrum to ludonarrative dissonance? That's where this game is.

  • Amazing game. But yeah - the Ash Twin project... They DEFINITELY need to do something about that. I eventually had to (regretfully) Google it... Only to find that I'd actually already tried that approach several times - but just didn't do it EXACTLY how it needs to be done. I think they should patch it so that if you're just standing there already when the sand comes, it should take you there. Rather than this kind of "you have to run at it at a very specific time. You can't just stand there and wait for it".

  • I wish this was in the game but I know it really doesn’t make any sense and would lead to lots of players being incredibly confused and also the story being super muddied BUT, what if while you have your signalscope pointed at the quantum moon while on the “outer wilds ventures” frequency, you heard solonum’s piano/whatever instrument? It would give a huge motivation to go exploring the quantum moon, and if you put some writing on the spot where you always land, maybe that slightly changes phrasing or node structure essentially telling the player to go find the explanation of what you’re supposed to do on the quantum moon? That would be really interesting and also make you able to hear the full ending campfire song instead of just the original instruments.

  • I loved the game, although I didn't have time or energy to find everything on my own, so I cheated with walkthroughs. For instance, I never realized that the broken twin tower would teleport me to the center of the Ember Twin. And some hidden paths would remain hidden forever unless I cheated. Not mentioning getting that damn warp core to the vessel, without crashing, running out of time, getting caught by angler fish... I gave up and watched the ending on youtube instead. Yes, it feels like a failure. But I only have so much time to spend on games. :P

  • Only problem I had was that at one point, I died to the sun going supernova, but I was inside of something, or looking away or something. point is, I didn't notice the sun going supernova, yet one of my dialogue options with the campfire guy on the starting planet was about the sun going supernova, so that was a bit of a bummer. the dying unexpectedly I just figured I was missing something. Edit: watching further, I now think I remember, I had just fallen through the black hole in brittle hollow, and I got confused between the white hole and the supernova, and thought the white hole killed me, which I am reasonably certain at this point, it can't.

  • Outer Wilds is not my favourite game ever made, (that honour goes to hollow knight, sadly, with ori and outer wilds as runner ups) It is very difficult to really put a finger on what makes these games, at least Hollow Knight and outer wilds so magical to me. the deep sense of exploration, of secrets waiting to be found, and genuinely, I don't really know, it's a bit easier with ori as it's a game that just controls exactly how I want a game to control added with plenty of that sense of exploration as well. But for both Hollow Knight and Outer wilds, there is a sense of mystery I think, that many other games can't really instill in the same way. it's hard to say, but they are both magical games, absolute gems, that, if you don't play either of them blind, you are doing yourself a disservice.

  • As a gamer in my mid-30s now, it's so amazing seeing a new generation of students coming out of university with such fresh ideas. The indie space is so alive right now and it makes me so joyful and eager to see this injection of new energy into the medium. Outer Wilds is a brilliant game on a design level, nevermind the execution, which is great as well.

The music, dynamics, visuals and environments all blend together to create these incredible atmospheres. I hope this game gets way more recognition. I understand that exploration games aren't for everyone but, outer wilds brings something different to the table. I'm so excited for Mobius' future. Truly industry revolutionaries right here.

I’ll never get them out of my head after this documentary, always wanted to be a game deve but never knew if I would be like the people who I visioned, but when I saw that a small team created a game like this, with so much meaning and who touched me EVEN WITHOUT PLAYING IT, made me realize that if I work to get my ideals and ideas out of paper I can do it too, still have a year and a half to complete high school so I have plenty of ground to walk, but I hope I can do it if I try.
